Sun City Roseville Foundation (SCRF) is a non-profit public benefit corporation operating for charitable purposes under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  Our mission is to provide services that address the physical, cultural, educational, and social needs of Sun City Roseville (SCR) residents.  Our activities include fundraising and performing certain services for residents, financially supporting services administered by the Sun City Roseville Community Association (SCRCA) and contributing toward the purchase of certain community capital assets that meet resident’s needs.  Our activities are performed by resident volunteers.

Investment Director

 

Summary

The primary responsibility of the Investment Director is to see that the Committee (appointed by the Board of Directors) preserves and invests Financial Assets of the Foundation in accordance with the current Foundation Investment Policy while maintaining liquidity to fund charitable programs in support of SCRCA residents.

In fulfilling this responsibility, the Investment Director typically engages in the following duties, responsibilities, and activities:

Job Duties

  • Monitor the status of the Foundation's Financial Assets and identify instances in which additions, reductions, or changes in investments may be needed.

  • Convene the Investment Committee by phone, email, or meeting (depending upon the subject and time constraints) to get a consensus for the possible actions (e.g., buy, sell, hold, transfer, etc.)

  • Maintain communications with employees of the banks and brokerage firms that are entrusted with Foundation Assets and seek their advice on investment decisions when possible.

  • Work with the Foundation Treasurer to identify when cash can be moved to equities and/or fixed income investments, or the reverse (to liquidate a part of the investment portfolio and return the cash to the Foundation's checking account as needed).

  • Periodically review the current Foundation Investment Policy and convene the Investment Committee to recommend changes, if necessary, to the Foundation Board for approval.

  • Report the status of the Foundation's Financial Assets and any significant transactions or events  Attend monthly Foundation Board meetings and occasional Foundation sponsored events and presentations

  • Maintain documentation describing how to perform the repeatable tasks of this position
